This course is offered as a 3-lesson, self-paced asynchronous course. It is designed to have a facilitator monitor discussions and provide guidance and feedback. Ideally, participants complete 3 lessons in 3 days. However, this course might be offered over a 3-week timeframe or longer. Multimodal Design is efficient. You design for all delivery modes during the course design process. Ideally, you deliver your course as a HyFlex course. HyFlex Delivery is a hybrid course with flexible participation. Learner-choice (control) is the core principle of HyFlex. This course is intended to facilitate the transition of a class delivered in-person (face-to-face) to one delivered fully online. During this class, you will revise a lesson (module) for online delivery. This course uses a lesson plan template to document the lesson before and after the transition. There are no office hours associated with this course. At the conclusion of the course, you will have the structure defined to deliver a lesson online, face-to-face, or hybrid. This course will help you prepare to deliver a HyFlex course. Once your lesson is complete, the method may be used to complete a course. Learners should use their planning templates as guides when creating multimodal learning experiences.

Prerequisites

Access to a lesson you currently teach, have taught, or plan to teach. SMART (Links to an external site.) course outcomes and lesson student learning objectives should already exist for the lesson. Canvas experience and digital literacy skills are strongly recommended. In addition, the participant has appropriate time management and organizational skills.
